Introduction

【Key Features】

The major developments of the College of Information and Distribution Science are "intelligence life" and "value-added technology". Using "intelligence IoT (Internet of Things) application services" as the major direction. We apply intelligence services technical platforms to the information service and distribution related industries. Combining intelligence business and healthcare fields, we cultivate talents for the "information services" and "distribution services" industries and toward interdisciplinary and international. To meet the growing demand for cultivating AI talent, the Doctoral Program in Intelligent Engineering was established in 2023.

Now our international academic partners include Muroran Institute of Technology (Japan), Niigata University (Japan), and Sapporo City University (Japan).

 

【Organization】

Currently, the college comprises 3 departments, 1 bachelor's degree program, 1 PhD program (starting in 2023), and 1 research center.

  • Department of Information Management/Elite

The teaching strategies focus on Information Technology (IT) application and management literacy and can be used in the enterprise application and management. The core competencies are Business Intelligence, Big Data, AIoT and Interactive Multimedia applications, which cultivate outstanding experts in the field of IT application and management.

 

  • Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering

This department is based mainly on Information Communication and Digital lifestyle which includes three major focus areas for development, namely, Embedded Systems, Network Communication Technology and artificial intelligence. The aim is to strengthen professional training for information engineering talents and to cultivate students to acquire the capability of information engineering and teamwork ability.

 

  • Department of Distribution Management

Distribution Management is based on the focus of our national development, industrial needs, and the cultivating of multi-skilled professionals in our excellent technology university. The orientation of our department is to cultivate interdisciplinary excellent professionals capable of smart logistics and new retails, achieving the goal of vocational education.

 

  • Bachelor Degree Program of Artificial Intelligence

To meet diversified applications of AI and the demands of interdisciplinary, our program uses intelligent living and value-added technology as development features to design three major tracks including intelligent computing, intelligent sensor application, and intelligent human‑computer interaction to cultivate artificial intelligence talents with professional implementation capacity.

 

  • Doctoral Program in Intelligent Engineering

Artificial intelligence has had a profound impact on science, technology, and various aspects of human life and industry. Our PhD program develops researchers with a balance of theoretical and practical expertise, industry-focused research and a global perspective. Furthermore, our courses emphasize the integration of theory and practice, with a specific focus on "AI technology research" and "AI industry applications."

 

  • Center of Information Technology Innovation Services

Apply information and communication technology to assist industry employed innovation business models and enhanced service values. Integrate the professional competencies of college faculties to provide practical services and enhance R&D abilities. Integrate cross disciplinary faculties and follow the national policy to provide services for local and emergence industries. The main R&D topics include industry-academy cooperation and vocation practical oriented issues.

 

【Faculty】

There are 68 faculty members in the college, including 29 professors, 17 associate professors, 21 assistant professors, 1 lecturer.

 

【Facilities】

In recent years, in addition to the continuous expansion of the hardware and software, the college has also established a cloud-based intelligent IoT laboratory and Maker fields, creating a private cloud platform for teaching and experiments to develop intelligent technical services.
