Introduction

Education Objectives

This department is based mainly on Information Communication and Digital lifestyle which includes three major focus areas for development, namely, Embedded Systems, Network Communication Technology and artificial intelligence. The aim is to strengthen professional training for information engineering talents and, to cultivate students to acquire the capability of information engineering and teamwork ability so that these talents will be equipped with humanities and technologies. After training the information professionals should be pragmatic, loyal, innovative and international.

Educational Features

This department is based on ten core competencies, namely, ability to use information technology and software tools, possess professional ethics and respect for intellectual property rights, ability for international vision and self-learning, ability of team work and coordinate communication skills, possess knowledge and basic theories of information engineering, ability to collect and understand information industry, ability to discover problems and to think innovatively, ability for logical deductions and analyses, ability to cross-domain in information technology and problem-solving and, ability for programming and system implementation. The major course design is based on four main technologies, namely, multimedia technology, information security technology, data mining technology and network embedded system technology. In addition to emphasizing professional skills and new development applications, and information engineering theories and technical capabilities, the department requires students to have abilities in teamwork and practical innovation.
