Introduction

Started from December 1st, 2011, National Taichung University of Science and Technology is renamed from National Taichung Institute of Technology merging with the National Taichung Nursing College and promotes the idea of “Implementing innovative services” and “nurturing standing talents”. There are five existing school systems: day school, night division, continuing education, long distance learning, and senior commercial school of continuing education. The Day School includes graduate school, 4-year institute of technology, 2-year institute of technology and 5-year College with a total of four academies: Business, Design and Language, Information And Circulation Management and Health Care.

History

On December 1st, 2011, the School is renamed as “National Taichung University of Science and Technology” by the approval of Executive Yuan with the merging of National Taichung Nursing College.

School Motto

“Perceptive, sublime, sagacious, prudent ” can be sourced from the letter written by Mr. Zeng Guofan to encourage his little brother, “all successful people from the ancient time had a sublime perspective and worked sagaciously and prudently. These characterisitcs are indispensable.”

Introduction

In 1999, National Taichung Institute of Technology was restructured as Institute of Technology with five existing school systems: day school, night division, continuing education, long distance learning, and senior commercial school of continuing education to improve the quality of technical personnel with further training in all areas. The Day School includes graduate school, 4-year institute of technology, 2-year institute of technology and 5-year college with a total of five academies: Business, Management, Design, Information and Language and seven graduate schools set. The Continuing Education includes 4-year institute of technology, 2-year institute of technology and 2-year College. Senior Commercial School of Continuing Education includes three departments: commercial operations, International Trade, and Data Processing.

1921 Renamed to ”Taichung State Taichung Business School”
1945 Renamed to “Taiwan Provincial Taichung Commercial Vocational School”
1949 Merged with "Taiwan Provincial Taichung Tutorial School” and changed as “Commercial Professional Tutorial School”
1956 “Taiwan Provincial Taichung Commercial Vocational School Tsaotun Campus” set in Tsaotun of Nantou County
1959 Tsaotun Campus set as “Taiwan Provincial Tsaotun Commercial Vocational School (now for National Tsaotun Commercial and Industrial Vocational Senior High School) “
1963 Restructured as “Taiwan Provincial Taichung College of Business”
1968 Added divisions of 2-year college evening division and 2-year practical arts
1971 Addition vocational school of distance learning
1973 Division of 2-year practical arts ended the enrollment
1976 Vocational school of distance learning ended the enrollment
1982 Renamed as “National Taichung College of Business”
1999 Renamed as “National Taichung Institute of Technology”
2003 Graduate school established
2009 Nineties school anniversary. President Ma Ying-jeou came to give the congratulations

National Taichung Nursing College (formerly)

Introduction

National Taichung Nursing College upheld the spirit and the basic philosophy promoted by Nightingale to train health care professionals in the 21st century. In June, 1997, the expropriation of the eight-hectare land for the second campus by Lingdong Road in Nantun of Taichung City was completed. Under the arrangement of Department of Education of Taiwan Provincial Government and the Ministry of Education, it was upgraded to “National Taichung Nursing College” on August 1st, 2000 with divisions of health care, cosmetology and senior citizen service management.
