The Focus and Feature of Development

In order to meet the market demand, the Department was established in 2009 to train students with the scientific spirit, enthusiasm for services and professional skills, and encourage them to embrace humane care through the professional courses that cover core care and senior citizen service management. With the structural changes in the growing elderly population and the declining birth rate, issues of the elders have attracted worldwide attention and made the elderly care become the mainstream of the health care market.

 

The Department hopes to be a pioneer in the education and the practice of senior citizen service management to promote the planning for long-term care policies.

 

Principles of the Department: we educate and train personnel for foundation professional services and conduct related researches.

  1. Elderly issues involve in various topics as personal experiences and the social process of aging population, thus Senior Citizen Service Management is also a technology-integrated science to implement related knowledge for teaching and researches.
  2. By hiring teachers with outstanding experiences, the Department recruits various students who are interested in gerontology, working with the elders and providing related services with enthusiasm and empathy.
