Department of Applied Statistics
【Education Objectives】
Our department focuses especially on the fields of business statistics, industry statistics, and Big Data. We not only stress the application of statistics, but also teach operational abilities for statistics software and telephone surveying. Our courses lead to strong employability, and we encourage students to take computer courses as well as interrelated complementary department courses in order to reinforce individual employment value. We popularize the learning and knowledge of statistics technology, combine all assets in our University, accommodate fluctuations in societal development, and offer innovative services for new industries. Our graduates not only have knowledge of business and management, but also have mastered professional statistical techniques. Therefore, we cultivate statistical manpower for the central area of Taiwan, from alumni businesses to industry in the area, in order to take advantage of local academia-industry cooperation.
